Superintendent's Message

Of all the events of 1997, the one that I remember the most is the inauguration of the American Creativity

Academy on the current premises of the Girls’ Campus.  The dream became a reality twelve years ago when ACA opened its doors.  I remember how the anticipation mounted during the summer months and the excitement on the first day of school.  I am fortunate because I experience the same anticipation and excitement every year.  There is always something new and fascinating happening at ACA.

During the last twelve years we have obtained Council of International Schools (CIS) and Middle States Association (MSA) accreditation, our student population has grown to over 2500, and our staff is over 350 wonderful and caring educators.  This year we have launched the IB Diploma Program and honors classes in high school.  We are very excited about this program because “the International Baccalaureate (IB) offers high quality programs of international education to a worldwide community of schools. There are more than 664,000 IB students at 2,423 schools in 131 countries.”

Our Kindergarten teachers and students, with Ms. Allison Ibrahim and Ms. Besma El-Bakri at the helm, have been very busy helping our youngest students learn their alphabet, numbers, reading, writing, and mathematics.  They are also working hard at implementing a new Arabic curriculum.  We are also very proud of their work with the community and reaching out to those less fortunate.

Elementary students at both campuses are being challenged to reach their true potential.  Dr. Jennifer Massicotte, Mr. Christer Nilsson, Ms. Lisa Smith, and Ms. Cathy Al-Qattan have a wealth of elementary experience and they are ready to help our students achieve higher academic standings.

The MHS is headed by Ms. Diane Richardson, Mr. Craig Williamson, Ms. Dale Taylor, Ms. Robin Chamney, and Mr. Mohammed Ahmed.  It is very rewarding to see all of their accomplishments and to be a part of their dreams.  I relish the sight of their smiles, warm greetings, and joy.  Our seniors are getting ready to enter universities around the world. They are working hard, taking AP classes, and eager to mark their destiny.

We are happy to continue to work closely with our Parents’ Association.  They have been busy organizing events and activities for our community.  The Parents’ Association General Assembly is scheduled for December 1, 2008.  All parents are cordially invited to attend this meeting.

Lastly, on behalf of the American Creativity Academy I would like to extend a heartfelt greeting to our

parents, students, and extended families.  May Allah bless you and grant you good health as well as a

blessed Eid Al-Adha holiday.  Thank you for your support, trust, and confidence.

 Sincerely
Gertrude Gomez,

Superintendent
