Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support (PBIS) framework
A big welcome back to our ACA community! This is a really exciting time to be a part of our community as we continue to introduce new and innovative ways to encourage our students to learn at the highest level. This year we are very proud to be introducing our Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support (PBIS) framework.
PBIS is a framework whereby all staff, students and families will be involved in developing core values which then help us to focus on building behavioral interventions in and out of the classroom for improved learning. This framework aims to bring together effective classroom management and preventative school discipline to achieve successful academic instruction in a positive and safe school environment.
PBIS is also a consistent approach that is integrated throughout all grades and all classrooms at ACA. This consistency helps to ensure that great systems and processes are fully integrated into our school culture and our students and teachers can thrive in the best possible environment.
Through the PBIS framework ACA aims to use the most effective and positive approach to addressing even the most severe behavioral problems. This way informative corrective feedback is provided, the use of prosocial skills is acknowledged and academic success is maximized.
We look forward to working with you all in the upcoming months as we continue to strive to make ACA a place where our students can experience the highest level of learning within a positive and safe environment.
